Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro/Ultra: Exynos 2600 chip, 200 MP camera and new colors

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series, expected to be officially released in January next year, is rumored to include the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro, the S26 Edge, the S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. There are new leaks about the Pro and Ultra models, as well as a possible camera sensor.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro with Exynos 2600 chipset
According to a report from last month, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro will have the Exynos 2600 chipset under the hood, which has now been confirmed by SamMobile. SamMobile claims to have found evidence that the Galaxy S26 Pro will be equipped with the Exynos 2600 chip in most countries. However, in the US and China, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip could be used instead, just like in previous Galaxy S models.



Samsung will likely take the same approach with the Galaxy S26+. The Plus model was initially dropped from the S26 series, but Samsung recently resumed development after sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge fell short of expectations.
The Exynos 2600 will be the first mobile chip using 2nm technology and is expected to feature a deca-core CPU in a 1+3+6 configuration. Mass production reportedly began last month, so everything should be ready for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro and Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in Apple colors
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has already appeared in several leaked renders, which gave a pretty good idea of the design. Now the Ultra has also leaked in three different colors, with the Apple iPhone 17 Pro models in Cosmic Orange apparently serving as inspiration.

Just because a leaked image shows the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in orange doesn’t mean Samsung will actually launch the smartphone in that color. Plans can change at any time, so it’s best to reserve final judgment on a product until the official launch. Furthermore, the authenticity of this image is highly debatable— It could easily be an AI-generated image.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro and Ultra with 200 MP ISOCELL HP5 sensor?
Samsung has also introduced another 200 MP smartphone image sensor called the ISOCELL HP5, which it claims is the world’s first with 0.5 µm pixels. Despite its small pixel size, the HP5 is designed to deliver bright images in low-light conditions and overall better image quality. The sensor itself measures 1/1.56 inches.


Samsung points out that technologies such as Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI) and Dual Vertical Transfer Gate (D-VTG) are used to allow each pixel to capture more light and detail. The sensor is said to utilize improved DTI Center Cut (DCC) technology to produce brighter and clearer images despite the small pixels.
Samsung claims the sensor offers 150% higher conversion gain and improves noise reduction (RN) by 3% to 40% depending on shooting conditions. The ISOCELL HP5 offers 2x sensor zoom and up to 6x lossless zoom when using a 3x telephoto lens.
It supports Smart ISO Pro and graded HDR for better HDR performance. The sensor can record 4K video at 120 fps, 8K at 30 fps, and 1080p at 240 fps. It also supports 8-bit, 10-bit, 12-bit, and 14-bit RAW formats.
The new 200 MP sensor is already in mass production and is expected to be included in several upcoming phones. Whether this will include the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro and Ultra remains to be seen. However, there is already confirmation for the vivo Y500 Pro.
