As expected, Apple officially unveiled the AirPods Pro 3 at its big event today. These offer more bass, better overall sound, and twice the ANC performance of the AirPods Pro 2 thanks to new foam ear tips in five sizes and improved technology. Apple even boasts the best ANC of any wireless in-ear earbud. And with ANC enabled, you can listen to music for 8 hours on a single charge—33% longer than with AirPods Pro 2.

AirPods Pro 3 with hearing aid function

Transparency mode is designed to sound more natural, and the battery life in this mode is up to 10 hours. The hearing aid function is now available following certification in the UK and EU. The Conversation Boost feature is now automatically available for hearing aid wearers in noisier environments like restaurants and, according to Apple, offers “strong amplification with background noise cancellation.”

The AirPods Pro 3 feature a built-in heart rate monitor that lets you track over 50 workouts via the iOS Fitness app. You also get access to Apple’s Workout Buddy, even if you only have an iPhone and the AirPods Pro 3. This uses your workout data and history to generate personalized, motivating insights during your workouts. Fitness+ users receive real-time performance data such as heart rate, calories burned, and progress on the Move Ring and Burn Bar directly on their iPhone.

The new design is designed to fit more people’s ears. It is based on over 10,000 ear scans and over 100,000 hours of user research. The internal architecture has been redesigned to make each earbud smaller. The outer geometry of the ear tip has been aligned with the center of the body for greater stability. The earbuds are IP57 dust and water resistant.

The AirPods Pro 3 also feature a built-in translation function powered by Apple Intelligence. You can speak naturally in your own language, and your words will be translated into the language of your conversation partner, provided they also have AirPods Pro 3.

If not, you can use your iPhone as a horizontal display and view the live transcription of your statements in the other person’s preferred language. And when the other person responds, what’s said is automatically translated into your language and spoken into your AirPods.

Live Translation is also available on the AirPods 4 with ANC and AirPods Pro 2 with the latest firmware when paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone running iOS 26 or later. It currently supports English (UK and US), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. Support for Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese will follow later this year.

AirPods Pro 3 are available for pre-order today in the US and 50 other countries or regions for €249/$249 and will be available starting September 19.
