AirPods Pro 2: Hearing aid update for UK is here

Back in September, Apple announced a clinical-grade hearing aid mode for its AirPods Pro 2. The feature was initially introduced in the US following FDA approval, and Apple has now confirmed that it is now available in the UK.

The hearing aid feature is also coming to the Apple AirPods Pro 2 in the UK as an OTA software update. After updating to the new firmware, users will be presented with a new hearing test that assesses existing hearing ability and hearing range.
After the test, users will receive a personalized hearing profile for their Apple headphones that amplifies the sounds in their environment in real time, just like a dedicated hearing aid. The feature is also available for phone calls, music, videos and games on all paired devices.
Apple has previously confirmed plans to bring the hearing aid functionality of the AirPods Pro 2 to over 100 countries and regions. As in the US and UK, the American manufacturer first needs approval from local health authorities before the update can go online.
