Samsung Galaxy A07 4G with Helio G99 chip and 6 years of support is here
Without much fanfare, the Samsung Galaxy A07 4G launched today. The new Galaxy smartphone brings several important improvements that extend its lifespan compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A06.
The Samsung Galaxy A07 is launched by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which, although older, represents a significant improvement over the 12nm G85 of last year’s model. This chip is manufactured on a newer 6nm node and features a newer architecture with Cortex-A76 CPU cores and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU (compared to the A55 and G52).
In addition, the Samsung Galaxy A07 launches with Android 15 and One UI 7 and will receive six guaranteed operating system updates. That’s significantly more than the A06, which only received two operating system updates. The new model also features basic water ingress protection according to IP54 (splash water).
The 6.7-inch LCD display achieves a refresh rate of 90 Hz, but the resolution remains unchanged at 720p+. The panel also features a cutout for the camera. Both features are not unusual for an entry-level model. This camera, by the way, has an 8 MP sensor and an aperture of f/2.0.
On the back, there’s a 50 MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 2 MP depth sensor. The main camera supports 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second.
The Galaxy A07 is a dual-SIM 4G smartphone with a dedicated slot for a microSD card. It also features a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB-C 2.0 port. The 5,000 mAh battery charges at 25 watts, and the dimensions are 167.4 x 77.4 x 7.6 mm and the weight is 184 g.
Samsung Galaxy A07 Prices
The Samsung Galaxy A07 was unveiled in Indonesia. According to the press release, it will be available in configurations ranging from 4/64 GB to 8/256 GB. The 4/128 GB variant has also appeared at Samsung Ukraine for 4,700 UAH (€100/$115). The Indonesian version is slightly cheaper at 1,400,000 IDR (€75/$85), but this is likely due to different local taxes.
Samsung hasn’t yet mentioned a Galaxy A07 5G version.
