Samsung Galaxy A06 5G with Dimensity 6300 chip introduced in India
The new Samsung Galaxy A06 5G is the first 5G-capable phone among the A0 models. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and supports 12 5G bands. It runs Android 15 with One UI 7 out of the box, and there are four major operating system updates compared to just two for the Galaxy A06 4G. Security patches will continue until early 2030.
Like the 4G variant, the Samsung Galaxy A06 5G also has a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels (20:9). However, the panel runs at a higher refresh rate of 90 Hz. New to the A06 generation is the side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
On the back there is a 50 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture that records 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. There is also a slow motion mode with 720p and 120 frames per second and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front camera sits in a waterdrop cutout and has a resolution of 8 MP through an f/2.0 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy A06 5G also has a USB-C 2.0 port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.3. The supported 5G bands are 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 26, 28, 40, 41, 66, 77, 78. The 5,000 mAh battery supports wired charging with 25 watts, typical for Samsung. The body is 8mm thick, weighs 191g, and offers IP54 protection against dust and splashes.
The Galaxy A06 5G is related to the Galaxy A06, which launched last August and launched in India at ₹10,000 (€110/$115) for 4/64GB. The 5G model starts at ₹10,500 (€116/$121) for the same capacity. But there’s also a 4/128GB version for ₹11,500 (€127/$132) and a 6/128GB model for ₹13,000 (€144/$150). A screen protection plan for the first year is almost free at INR129.
Samsung Galaxy A06 5G prices
The Samsung Galaxy A06 5G will be available in all retail stores in India, both online and offline. You can choose between three color variants: Black, Grey and Light Green. Other markets have not been confirmed yet. Despite the affordable price of ₹ 10,500, there are four major OS updates, which is more than some manufacturers give their flagship models.
The Galaxy A06 5G is, by the way, almost identical to the Galaxy F06 5G.
