vivo X Fold5: Various teaser images and hands-on video
The vivo X Fold5 will launch in China on June 25, while the global launch is scheduled for July 10. Ahead of the full announcement, the company has now continued its teaser campaign on Weibo and released a series of new official images of the smartphone.
In addition to the images and video, vivo also points out that last year’s X Fold3 still holds the record as the lightest foldable book-style device. And of course, the vivo X Fold5 will break that record. Accordingly, it must weigh less than 219 g.
The Fold5 is said to be thinner than its predecessor, but still has the most powerful battery of all foldables with a capacity of 6,000 mAh. The battery consists of 12 % silicon and is even ready for operation at -30 ° C. The hinge has tested vivo to -20 ° C, and multitasking should work even better thanks to vivos Atomic Workbench, a desktop-like environment.
The vivo X Fold5 is also the first Android smartphone to seamlessly integrate into the Apple ecosystem. It’s specifically aimed at existing iPhone users who want a foldable smartphone but don’t want to leave Apple’s ecosystem. A vivo executive explained that using the X Fold5 alongside an iPhone is entirely possible, and it’s also possible to completely replace the iPhone.
