Siri with Apple Intelligence to launch in spring 2026
Apple plans to launch its delayed personalized Siri features in spring 2026, reports Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. Gurman claims that Apple has set an “internal release target” of 2026, which is consistent with comments from Apple executives this week.
Craig Federighi and Greg Joswiak conducted several interviews after WWDC in which they acknowledged Apple’s problems with Siri and confirmed that Apple is now planning a 2026 release. According to Apple’s statement, there were ongoing quality issues with testing the new features, which is why the company held them back and switched to a more powerful underlying architecture to address the issues.
Apple originally planned to introduce the personalized Siri features in iOS 18.4. After the one-year delay to fix the architecture, we could see the functionality sometime in March or April 2026 in an iOS 26.4 update.
Gurman claims that if development continues to be promising in the coming weeks, Apple could unveil the features at the launch of the new iPhone 17 models this fall. It’s unclear whether Apple will do so, as the company has faced significant criticism for delaying the features and several class-action lawsuits have been filed.
Apple Intelligence Siri updates have been waiting for over a year
Apple first unveiled the Apple Intelligence Siri updates last June at WWDC 2024, promoting the iPhone 16 models with the first feature demos. Customers who bought an iPhone 16 in anticipation of Siri features were accordingly less than enthusiastic about Apple’s delay in March.
Apple did not announce any upcoming features for WWDC 2025. Instead, much of the conference focused on the new Liquid Glass design. Furthermore, almost everything the company unveiled during the keynote event is already included in the first developer beta. Two highly anticipated features have been postponed to iOS 27.
