New iPhone 17 series hands-on video confirms design
We’ve already seen two group selfies of the new Apple iPhone 17 Air compared to its competitors, as well as several images of dummy models of the next iPhones. The next step in the rumor carousel is logically a hands-on video from the dummies, and here it is.
These appear to be the same Apple iPhone 17 dummies as the first leak. Of course, the video gives a much better impression from all possible angles. The star of the show is, unsurprisingly, the extremely flat iPhone 17 Air, which is reportedly only 5.65 mm thick and therefore barely thicker than its USB-C port.
The Apple iPhone 17 Air is set to replace the iPhone 16 Plus this year, as the Plus versions have been selling the worst for years. It remains to be seen whether the flat design is enough of a unique selling point to make the Air a bestseller. At least Apple’s marketing should pull out all the stops – we can already hear the words “unique” and “revolutionary” flying through the room.
The Apple iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, on the other hand, will have a completely different design than the Air, which only differs from its predecessors in details. This includes the wider camera module, which now spans the entire width of the back.
Apple iPhone 17 series with aluminum unibody?
Other rumored specifications such as an aluminum frame, a unibody metal design and a cutout for MagSafe that enables reverse wireless charging surfaced has also been in the rumor mill several times. However, nothing of this can be seen in these dummies.
