Fortnite Simpsons Season: What is known so far
With Fortnite OG now a permanent mode, we don’t expect another retro mini-season like last year’s Chapter 2 Remix or the original OG season from the year before. But with the launch of the upcoming Chapter 6 Season 4 on August 8, a new mini-season in November is almost guaranteed, as Fortnite has never before intentionally had a four-month season. Instead, since the beginning of May, there’s been a hot rumor that we’ll get another collaboration mini-season like the Star Wars season in May, this time with the Simpsons taking center stage.
Considering Epic’s close relationship with Disney, as well as its long history of collaboration with Fox Animation – including the three cartoon dads Fortnite released for Father’s Day last June – this rumor sounds pretty plausible. In fact, there was hardly any skepticism. However, November is still a long way off, and a lot can happen between now and then. While we wait, let’s see what the rumor mill has to say.
When does the Simpsons mini-season of Fortnite start?
According to the next season’s update schedule, Chapter 6, Season 4 should end on Saturday, November 1st, meaning there will be a live finale during the day to wrap things up.
If everything goes as it did after the Death Star sabotage in June, the new mini-season would begin that same evening after 4-7 hours of maintenance. Otherwise, it would start the next morning, November 2nd.
Is the Simpsons mini-season officially confirmed?
So far, all information about the alleged Simpsons season comes from leakers and data miners and consists exclusively of written descriptions – there are no leaked images or anything tangible that could serve as confirmation. However, there is a poster in Utopia City that could hint at a Simpsons collaboration, but that’s not confirmation of any kind of takeover.
Considering that Epic usually holds back on advertising a new season until the current one is almost over, it will be a while before Epic says anything at all. However, prominent leakers have pointed this out so regularly that many people take it for granted that a Simpsons season is coming. But until real teasers emerge, the November Simpsons mini-season remains an unconfirmed rumor.
What would a Simpsons mini-season include?
The rumors so far are vague and confusing, so it’s a bit difficult to sift through them all right now. The big picture isn’t even remotely clear yet. Keep that in mind as we lay out the snippets of details we currently have. The most surprising detail among the rumors so far is that The Simpsons will have a full map modeled after their hometown of Springfield. However, it is claimed that it will be the size of a Reload map and will only support 40 players.
It’s not impossible that the main Battle Royale mode will be small, as it only runs for a month. After all, in 2022, Epic forced everyone to use Zero Build for two weeks at launch. But there’s another, rather obvious possibility: that the Springfield map might actually be for Reload and not BR.
Considering that Reload is currently Fortnite’s clear No. 2 mode and there’s no Battle Pass, it wouldn’t be surprising if Epic were looking for new ways to encourage people to play. In addition, a Squid Game-themed card was just added to the rotation in June, so there’s a precedent.
On the other hand, this part of the rumor could be completely false. Blortzen, the leaker who first started the Fortnite Simpsons season rumor, suggested in June that the rumored small map was actually Blitz Royale, which was announced a few weeks after all those Simpsons rumors started circulating.
Beyond that, everything else we’ve heard suggests that this rumored Fortnite Simpsons season will include most of the same things as other mini-seasons—a small Battle Pass, accompanying shop skins, and weekly map changes. Since we haven’t learned any important new details since the beginning of June, it’s still difficult to estimate exactly what The Simpsons season will look like.
