Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Star Wars Season, Darth Jar Jar and Battle Pass

Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, is almost over. And Season 3 is about to get wild: Star Wars is taking over Fortnite Battle Royale for five weeks.

There are only a few weeks left in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, and it looks like Season 3 is going to be wild—a new Star Wars season is on the way. Normally, Fortnite’s spring season would last until late May or early June, but Season 2 is ending weeks earlier. But with the next Star Wars season coming up, the change makes sense—it starts the weekend of May 4.

While we wait for Season 3, there’s still plenty to do, as usual. The final part of the Season 2 storyline quests is now live, leading us to another end-of-season story event, like the massive Shogun X vs. Daigo battle we had in Season 1.

Right after the end, we’re going full steam ahead into Season 3, which is already generating excitement thanks to the big reveal trailer from Star Wars Celebration in Japan (see below).

Fortnite Star Wars Season Trailer

The season trailer was released on Saturday night on the Main Stage at Star Wars Celebration.

Start Date

The current Battle Pass is scheduled to end on May 2 at 10:30 PM PT / 1:30 AM ET, meaning Fortnite will be offline for maintenance and the season update at that time. If all goes well, the new season will begin on Friday morning, May 2.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Theme

Season 3 will be a Star Wars-focused season, adding Star Wars locations, weapons, and items to the battle royale, like last year’s Marvel-focused Absolute Doom season. But it seems Epic has learned some important lessons from the way the last Marvel season fell flat at the end. The company actually had to pull most Marvel items from Battle Royale before the end of the season. The new Star Wars season will therefore reportedly only last five weeks.

Fortnite Star Wars Season Battle Pass

A Star Wars season would also mean a Star Wars Battle Pass, but none of the skins have leaked yet. There are rumors and speculations based on codenames like Qui-Gon and C-3PO, but nothing concrete yet.

Since the season is expected to only last a month, it’s likely that the Battle Pass will also be shortened – the 30-day OG and Remix Passes only included four skins instead of eight. However, there could be one or two more.

New Fortnite Star Wars Skins

While a Star Wars season would naturally include Star Wars skins in its Battle Pass, we would also expect some new items in the shop. The reveal trailer included glimpses of Mace Windu, Emperor Palpatine, an unknown Mandalorian, Darth Jar Jar, and two Fortnite mashups featuring Jedi Evie and Wookiee Team Leader. Captain Phasma and Poe “The Fly Now” Dameron from the sequel trilogy are also key art. That’s eight skins, so they probably won’t all be in the pass.

The Mandalorian, whom we haven’t seen anywhere yet, will likely be a customizable skin reminiscent of the recently released Iron Man.

Lego Fortnite Star Wars Updates in Chapter 6 Season 3

We haven’t had any leaks about Star Wars-related Lego Fortnite updates, but the current Lego Pass also ends on May 2nd. Since that’s actually the day the Star Wars season begins in Battle Royale, it stands to reason that the same thing will happen in Lego Fortnite Odyssey. Last year’s Lego Pass (see above) included a Chewbacca skin and ushered in a major Star Wars storyline. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that the next Lego Pass will include one of the skins revealed in the trailer above, and that the Galactic Civil War will once again descend upon your Lego Fortnite islands.
