As usual, access to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra goes through the back, after the adhesive securing the back glass has been heated. The display connector is only accessible from the back, meaning you can’t just replace the display – you essentially have to disassemble the entire phone to get to the connector.
The battery removal mechanism of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is praised and even considered easier than that of Apple. The USB connector is very easy to remove and replace if it malfunctions. All the cameras are connected to the mainboard from below. Therefore, to replace a camera, the mainboard must first be removed.
The selfie camera, however, is not so easy to remove. The same applies to the display. Besides the S26 Ultra, of course, the Galaxy S26+ and the normal Samsung Galaxy S26 were also released a few weeks ago. The latter also surfaced in a teardown, specifically from the YouTube channel PBKreviews.
The teardown of the device begins with the removal of the SIM card tray. The back cover can then be removed after gently heating it to loosen the adhesive.
The S26 shines with its good availability of spare parts, easy battery replacement, and straightforward repair of other components, achieving top marks in all three categories. Its weaknesses lie in the design, as this impacts repair time, and in the display replacement, which, while simple, is not straightforward. very It’s simple.
