Apple Watch Series 10 disappoints in teardown test
The Apple Watch Series 10 was launched last month and now it’s finally time for us to take a look at the internal components and structures. Thanks to iFixit, they captured their teardown test of the 46mm version on video and posted it on YouTube. The results are quite exciting to watch.
To get into the Apple Watch Series 10, you have to exploit a gap with a diameter of 0.176 mm and then just pry, pry, pry and pry some more. It’s also advisable to use the right amount of heat beforehand. The teardown shows the battery capacity of 327 mAh and also the rather gigantic size of the Taptic Engine. This takes up no less than around a third of the battery size.
The battery of the Apple Watch Series 10 is held in place by adhesive in the classic way. And it’s just regular adhesive, nothing fancy. The sensors are very difficult to repair and the sheer size of the new Apple Watch makes any repair quite difficult. For this reason, iFixit only gives it a repairability rating of 3 out of 10. 0 means very difficult to repair and 10 means very easy to repair.
