Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6: Strong performance in durability test

The internal main display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 is still covered in plastic. Accordingly, the 7.6-inch LTPO AMOLED panel scratches much faster than the external cover display with its Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front. The frame is, unsurprisingly, made of aluminum with the exception of the antenna cutouts. So Zack’s knife immediately leaves deep scratches here too. Then comes the fire test, which the folding display withstands for around 25 seconds. Then the plastic starts to melt and the pixels turn irretrievably black.
Even contact with sand does not immediately put the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 out of action. The hinge makes various crunching noises afterwards, but continues to work as expected. Finally, there are no problems with the bending test. The Fold6 bends slightly when opened, but it does not break or tear. This is not a big surprise, however, as its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold5, delivered exactly the same strong performance in the durability test a year ago.
Finally, Zack takes the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 apart piece by piece. What the foldable thinks of it is immediately shown with some smoke rising from the ribbon cable for the display. Strangely enough, the Samsung phone continues to work even with the inner display removed, but Zack continues to drill until the whole thing is disassembled.
