Nubia Z80 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 7,200 mAh battery unveiled
The nubia Z80 Ultra is the brand’s latest flagship and offers several improvements over its predecessor, such as the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a redesigned camera setup, and a larger 7,200 mAh Si/C battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The Z80 Ultra features a 6.85-inch BOE X10 AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution (1,216 x 2,688 pixels) and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Nubia once again relies on a 16 MP under-display camera, which keeps the panel free of any obstructions, creating a seamless canvas.

Nubia brings back the 35 mm equivalent main camera, which uses a special 1/1.3-inch Omnivision 990 sensor.
There’s also a 64MP periscope with a 1/2-inch sensor and 3x optical zoom. The third camera is an 18mm-equivalent ultra-wide-angle module with a 1/1.55-inch sensor.
The new AI photography filters recommend color profiles in an instant, but you can also adjust the color profiles manually.
Nubia also offers an optional photography kit for 669 CNY (81 €/95 $) with a vintage camera look. It features a T-mount with support for external lenses and a hot shoe for microphones, fill lights, and other accessories.
The nubia Z80 Ultra is offered with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The SD Elite Gen 5 features a composite liquid metal cooling solution like the Red Magic gaming phones. You also get a 3D Ice Steel VC heatsink for optimal cooling.
Prices
The phone was unveiled in China today, and Nubia also confirmed a global launch on November 6th. The nubia Z80 Ultra is available in Light White, Phantom Black, and a Vincent van Gogh-inspired Starry Sky Collector’s Edition.
Prices start at CNY 4,999 (€605/$701) for the 12/512 GB configuration and go up to CNY 5,999 (€726/$842) for the Starry Sky Collector’s Edition.
