Apple iPad Pro M5 coming in 2025 with two front cameras
Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro models will feature two front-facing cameras, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. In today’s Power On newsletter, Gurman said that the Apple iPad Pro M5 models will feature both portrait and landscape cameras, allowing you to take photos and make video calls without having to worry about the device’s orientation.
The current iPad Pro models with the M4 chipset have a single front-facing camera designed for use in landscape mode. Face ID, on the other hand, already works on the current iPad Pro models in any orientation.
After the iPad Pro was updated last year with an OLED display and a significantly thinner design, the Apple iPad Pro M5 is expected to receive minor upgrades this year. The most important rumors so far include only the M5 chipset and the dual front cameras.
Apple iPad Pro M5 in 2025 after all
In February, well-known Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo said that the Apple iPad Pro M5 would go into mass production in the second half of 2025. The current iPad Pro models with the M4 chip were launched in May 2024. Apple typically updates the iPad Pro in approximately 18-month cycles. The next models could therefore appear in September or October.
Gurman himself said in February 2025 that updates to the Mac Studio and Mac Pro with the M4 chip would come before the MacBook Pro with the Apple M5 chipset. Then, the turnaround came the week before last – In 2025, the M5 chipset will be launched in the new iPad Pro instead of the next MacBook Pro.
