Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 costs 259 euros
Nvidia announced the smallest model in the RTX 50 series last week: the GeForce RTX 5050. The press release also included the price, but $249, which of course only applies to the US. Now the price for Europe has appeared: 259 euros.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 features a new GB207 chip based on the Blackwell architecture with 2560 CUDA cores—two-thirds of the RTX 5060 launched in April. Like other 50-series cards, it features 5th-generation Tensor cores and 4th-generation RT cores. This means it supports features such as DLSS4 with multi-frame generation and the upcoming Reflex 2.
The GeForce RTX 5050 GPU has a base clock speed of 2.31 GHz and a boost clock speed of up to 2.57 GHz. It features 128-bit 8 GB GDDR6 memory, making it the only card in the 50 series without GDDR7. Additional features include three DisplayPort 2.1b and one HDMI 2.1b ports, a 9th-generation NVENC encoder, and a 6th-generation NVDEC decoder. The card has a power output of 130 watts and can be powered by either a single 8-pin connector or a PCIe Gen 5 cable at 300 W or more.
Nvidia also presented some comparisons of the relative performance of the RTX 5050 compared to older Nvidia cards. These make it difficult to discern anything. However, the company claims that the new card is, on average, 60% faster in the grid than the RTX 3050, which launched over three years ago. The card’s performance appears to be on average on par with the RTX 4060 from two years ago.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 should be available around this time next month. There is no Founders Edition model from Nvidia, but the card will be available from all major board partners, including Asus, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC.
Sales will start in the second half of July. There’s also a mobile version of the RTX 5050, which is already available in notebooks starting at $999.
