Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 with Dolby Atmos audio introduced

Google is expanding the Chromebook Plus category with a powerful new model from Lenovo and numerous AI features for all Chromebook Plus laptops. The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is equipped with the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 chipset. This chip features a Cortex-X925 core (3.62 GHz), three Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720 cores, as well as an ARM Immortalis-G295 MC11 GPU.

The NPU delivers 50 TOPS on-device performance. The Kompanio Ultra 910 is similar to the Dimensity 9400 and is the most powerful ARM chip in a Chromebook to date.

As the name suggests, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 features a 14-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. Its refresh rate is 60 Hz and its brightness is 400 nits. The battery promises up to 17 hours of battery life – the longest of all Chromebook Plus models.

This model is the first in the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 series to support Dolby Atmos and, according to Lenovo, offers premium sound. The device features two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Safe registrations are made possible by the fingerprint reader.
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 With smart grouping and AI photo functions
The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 has two exclusive functions supported by the integrated NPU. Smart grouping automatically organizes tabs and documents according to content. In the gallery app you can also carry out AI-based image processing-remove the background or create stickers with just one click. Lenovo also worked with the NASA and developed exclusive background images with breathtaking views of the Jupiter.

Next there are various AI functions available for all Chromebook Plus laptops. Most of them are integrated directly into Chromeos. The “Select to Search with Lens” function works like “Circle to Search” on your smartphone. Simply press the launcher for a long time (or use the screenshot tool) to mark an image on the screen and get search results immediately.
Text capture is done using advanced OCR screen recognition. For example, you can clip an event invitation and add it to your calendar. You can even scan handwritten recipes – the text will be digitized, and the ingredients can be added to a shopping list in Google Docs.
Using the Insert key, you can easily create images and emojis with the help of AI and insert them into documents and presentations – as easily as typing the prompt. Speaking of easy, “Help Me Read” summarizes long texts with complex language and makes them easier to understand. Incidentally, with the Google AI Pro plan, you get direct access to NotebookLM for research and writing support.

Google is also working with partners to optimize apps and games for the larger laptop form factor. Netflix’s award-winning game Squid Game: Unleashed gets keyboard and mouse support. Luminar, a paid AI photo editing software, is also optimized for Chromebooks (and you get a free 3-month trial with a Plus laptop).
