Samsung Galaxy Watch8 series arrives on July 9
Thanks to the latest press renders from well-known tipster Evan Blass, virtually the entire design of the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 series has been revealed. The renders show the Galaxy Watch8 in black, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic in white, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in blue. This year’s big trend is the shift to a sleek design across the entire series.
The standard version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 has a flush glass surface (certainly sapphire glass), two separate buttons on the right side, and a speaker on the left side.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic in new look features a rotating bezel around the 1.5-inch display and a new three-button layout on the right side that looks almost identical to that of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with a crown The second-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra has one button in the middle and two buttons on the sides. It is unclear whether the button can be rotated or is just a pusher like on the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The second-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra has a fixed blue-orange bezel, an orange center button, and a gray titanium case. All three watches are expected to be equipped with Samsung’s Exynos W1000 chipset, LTE connectivity, and Wear OS 6.
Samsung Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Z Fold7, and Flip are coming on July 9th
Last week, Blass also claimed that Samsung would hold its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9th to unveil new foldables. Today, the date was confirmed. The event will take place in Brooklyn, New York, and begin at 10:00 a.m. ET. The event will also be broadcast live on Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel.
The Korean brand has not yet revealed how many devices it will present at Unpacked. It simply stated that the “next-generation Galaxy devices will be reimagined with a new AI-powered user interface and groundbreaking hardware designed to unlock their full potential.”
In Samsung’s video teaser it says “Ultra Unfolds” towards the end. The only Ultra device on the list so far is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. However, the main stars of the event will be the foldable Galaxy smartphones.
Thus, one can reasonably speculate that after the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which was limited to Korea and China, this year will see a global Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra. However, according to rumors this is unlikely.
