Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro before launch
Earlier this month, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra made their official global debut at the MWC in Barcelona, and now the company seems to be already hard at work developing the next T series, which, as usual, will consist of two members: the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro, which will succeed the 14T and 14T Pro.
This is supported by evidence that Smartprix discovered in the latest HyperOS 2.1 code. This confirms that the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro are in the works, but the leak unfortunately does not provide any technical data. However, the Pro model has the same internal code name as the upcoming Redmi K80 Ultra. And since the Ultra will most likely only be sold in China, the 15T Pro is likely to be the global version of that model.
However, it will most likely not be a direct rebranding. For one thing, this hasn’t been the case with the T series in the past, and for another, the K80 Ultra and the 15T Pro have different model numbers. The 15T Pro will probably be heavily based on the K80 Ultra, but will not be identical. There are legitimate hopes for some exciting upgrades, especially in the camera setup.
Xiaomi 15T Pro with fast Dimensity 9400+ chipset
If Xiaomi follows the same path as in previous years, we wouldn’t be surprised if the 15T came out with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 chipset and the Pro model with the Dimensity 9400 or 9400+. The launch event will most likely take place in September.
The Xiaomi 15T is codenamed “klimt” after the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, while the Pro is codenamed “turner” after the English painter J. M. W. Turner. This has become a tradition at Xiaomi, where the T series uses code names that refer to famous painters in world history.
