Apple iPhone 17 Air to have 6.7-inch display
According to a new tip from well-known leaker Jon Prosser, the upcoming Apple iPhone 17 Air will have a larger display than originally expected. In the new Recycle Bin podcast, the tipster said the iPhone 17 Air will launch with a 6.7-inch display, rather than a 6.6-inch display as originally thought.
Prosser also claimed the Apple iPhone 17 Air will be 5.64mm thick. As usual, however, this figure only refers to the body, excluding the alleged camera bar that runs across the back. Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously claimed the iPhone 17 Air would measure just 5.5mm at its thinnest point. 5.64mm wouldn’t be too far off from that.
Like most sources, Prosser has a mixed track record when it comes to Apple rumors. In 2020, he was the first to reveal the design of the AirTag, many months before its actual unveiling. He also revealed various details about the iPad mini 6 months before its launch. On the other hand, like several other tipsters, he was wrong about the Apple Watch Series 7 when he predicted a smartwatch with a flat display.
In recent weeks, he shared various details and the alleged designs of the Apple iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro. He also claimed that iOS 19 will include a redesigned camera app with a visionOS-like interface.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be announced in September, along with the rest of the iPhone 17 series. Last year, display industry analyst Ross Young said the iPhone 17 Air would have a 6.55-inch display, or rounded up to a 6.6-inch display.
