Lenovo ThinkBook Plus with rollable display comes to CES
Folding screens have been around for a while, and rollable displays are definitely the next big thing. These have been showcased by various display panel manufacturers and smartphone brands for years, but so far there hasn’t been a commercial product that includes such a panel. That could change very soon – with the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus.
Apparently, it’s already happening at CES in early January. According to well-known tipster Evan Blass aka @evleaks, the latest generation Lenovo ThinkBook Plus will be unveiled at CES, which will feature a rollable display. The leaked images show how the mechanism works.
You can use it as a “normal” laptop with a screen that appears to have a 3:2 aspect ratio, without the difference being noticeable from a regular notebook.
If you need more screen space, just pull the display up and the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus’s panel is about twice as big. However, the form factor is relatively unusual, as it appears to change from 3:2 to 2:3. Perfect for long tables, less suitable for videos. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know the technical data for the display and the question of durability always arises with such first-generation products. In addition, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus should set a new price record for a notebook without any major problems.
