Xiaomi 15 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 5x telephoto and large battery is here

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is the bigger brother of the Xiaomi 15 and one of the first phones to launch with Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Not only does the 15 Pro come with the fastest mobile chipset available, but it also offers some significant improvements over its predecessor. These include a brighter display, revamped cameras, and a massive 6,100 mAh battery.

While the display still measures 6.73 inches, the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s LTPO OLED panel features slimmer bezels and a micro-curved design with subtle curves on all four corners. Thanks to the new M9 LEDs, the display reaches a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It still has a resolution of 1,440 x 3,200 pixels and a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz, and the new integrated ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is also on board. In addition, Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 protection is installed, which Xiaomi says is 10x more resistant than Gorilla Glass Victus.

On the back, the new triple camera setup works with Leica brand cameras and a new AISP 2.0 computational photography system. The 50 MP main camera uses an OmniVision Light Fusion 900 sensor, which was already used in the Xiaomi 14. The chip has a size of 1/1.31 inches and an equivalent focal length of 23 mm. It is paired with a new 50 MP periscope (IMX858) with five times optical zoom, which also functions as a telephoto macro lens. A 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an equivalent focal length of 14 mm sits in the third circle.

The battery with a capacity of 6,100 mAh is completely new. It supports 90 watt wired charging and 50 watt wireless charging. The operating system is Android 15 with Xiaomi’s brand new HyperOS 2 interface.
