During the State of Play presentation on Thursday morning, Sony announced that the PlayStation 5 hardware could soon be expanded to include a DualSense controller in the Grand Theft Auto 6 design.

The controller is a sleek model with glossy purple accents and palm tree-shaped engravings. The touchpad features a large “VI” in the center, also adorned with palm tree motifs. The GTA logo is prominently displayed on the back – in case you’ve forgotten which game this controller is for. It’s available in black and white and can be pre-ordered now.

GTA 6 PlayStation controller costs $84

The PlayStation controller will be released alongside GTA 6 on November 19, 2026. Pre-orders are available directly from Sony or at retailers. The price is $84 (72 euros).

“These limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers perfectly capture the style and luxury of Vice City,” reads the description of the short trailer for the new controller. You can take a closer look at the new DualSense hardware below.

There are also good reasons to get a new controller. Grand Theft Auto 6 is supposed to bring back sprinting with L3, so the 80-hour game is expected to put a lot of strain on your equipment. GTA 6 also supports special DualSense features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

There is still no information about a PS5 console or a Grand Theft Auto 6-themed bundle including the game, console, and new DualSense controller. However, since Sony is treating the game like a first-party exclusive that deserves special attention, it’s likely only a matter of time before an announcement is made.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
