The market for portable Android gaming consoles has been booming for several years as manufacturers try to compete with Valve’s Steam Deck. Now Lenovo presents its first portable Android gaming console: the Lenovo Legion C700 Cloud Gaming Handheld is here.
One of the standout features of the Lenovo Legion C700 is its offline streaming capability. Thanks to Lenovo’s proprietary Legion Stream protocol, you can stream from a PC without needing a network connection. The connection is established via a dongle, which is included in the box. Of course, you can also continue streaming from the cloud while on the go.
The Cloud Gaming Handheld doesn’t boast the most impressive hardware. It features a fairly large 7.82-inch FHD LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, unlike the OLED screens of other handhelds.
Lenovo Legion C700 with Dimensity 7400 chipset
The Lenovo Legion C700 is powered by a mid-range Dimensity 7400 processor, supported by an active cooling system. The chip is paired with 6, 8, or 12 GB of RAM, while internal storage is available in either 128 or 256 GB options. Storage can also be expanded via microSD card.
An 8,000 mAh battery provides the necessary power, and given the chipset’s limited performance and high energy efficiency, it should be sufficient even for particularly long gaming sessions. In terms of connectivity, the device features a 3.5 mm audio jack, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6E. The device also runs Android 16, which is not standard in this segment.
The launch was initially limited to the Chinese market. The starting price for the variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is 2,199 CNY (281 euros/330 US dollars). There is no information yet regarding worldwide availability.
