Pokémon Presents 2026: All the news
The Pokémon Company celebrated its annual Pokémon Day on Friday with a new event called Presents, which duly honored the franchise’s 30th anniversary.
Perhaps the biggest announcement was the unveiling of the 10th generation games, including Winds and Waves, but the event offered much more.
If you missed the big event on Friday with the live broadcast, here is a brief summary of all the games, trailers and release dates that were announced at the big event.
Pokémon Winds and Waves
The next main games will be released in 2027 with Pokémon Winds and Waves for Nintendo Switch 2. The video above offers a glimpse into the tropical setting of the games and the 10th generation starters – Pombon (Fire), Browt (Water) and Gecqua (Grass) – while also providing a comprehensive insight into the future direction of the Pokéverse.
Pokémon Champions Start Date
The new game Pokémon Champions will first be released in April for Nintendo Switch, the mobile versions for Android and iOS are expected to follow “later this year”.
Game Boy Jukebox
The melodies from classic Pokémon games can be played on a specially designed device: a mini Game Boy that plays 45 chiptune songs and sound effects via red and blue cartridges. It’s called Game Boy Jukebox, or more precisely, Pokémon Red & Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox.
The Game Boy Jukebox will be available in centers in the USA, Great Britain and Canada.
Pokopia
Pokémon Pokopia includes a new Boombox form for Rotom – also known as DJ Rotom – and more, such as a look at a giant Ditto model. It will be released on March 5th.
Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension
A new Mega Evolution is coming to Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Mega Garchomp Z!
XD Gale of Darkness
The role-playing game Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, developed in 2005 for the GameCube by Game Freak and Genius Sonority, will be released in March as part of the GameCube Nintendo Classics series.
10th Anniversary
A huge selection of Pokémon that have appeared in Go so far will return as part of a 30th anniversary event called “All Out”, which will take place from March 7th to 9th.
Trading Card Game
To properly celebrate the 30th anniversary, fans can look forward to a new trading card game expansion in 2026, which will be the “first expansion ever with a simultaneously coordinated worldwide launch”.
Sleep
Mew will be included in Sleep as part of a new study on sleep styles.
Masters EX
New mate pairs appear in Masters EX, including the original mate pair Red and Pikachu from Red. Here’s the overview:
