The Arc Raiders update “Shrouded Sky” is the February entry on the roadmap that Embark Studios released last month, and it’s the most extensive update in terms of both the quantity and variety of new content. It follows January’s “Headwinds,” which added the Trophy Display Project and the Bird City Map, among other things. “Flashpoint” will be released in March, followed by “Riven Tides” in April. All of this is part of the overarching Arc Raiders update group “Escalation”.

Here you can find out when Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky will be released in your time zone and what to expect.

Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky update start times

We know that the Shrouded Sky update will be released on Tuesday, February 24th, but Embark Studios doesn’t usually announce the exact time in advance. However, since previous updates were typically released around 4:30 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time), we expect Shrouded Sky to launch at the same time.

Here are the Arc Raiders start times for the different time zones:

  • 1:30 a.m. PST for the West Coast of North America
  • 4:30 a.m. EST for the East Coast of North America
  • 6:30 AM BRT to Brazil
  • 9:30 a.m. GMT for the United Kingdom
  • 10:30 a.m. CET for Western Europe
  • 6:30 PM JST for Japan
  • 8:30 PM AEDT for the east coast of Australia

What does the Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky update bring?

The Arc Raiders roadmap above lists the categories of all the new features in Shrouded Sky. Much of it is still unclear, and we can only speculate, but thanks to a blog post, we know exactly what to expect regarding the new map condition, “Hurricane.” Players will have to contend with strong winds. A tailwind grants a speed boost, while a headwind slows you down. Thrown items will also behave differently, presumably meaning they will fly in the direction the wind is blowing.

The wind whips up debris, and if you’re hit by it, your shield will flicker and spark. It’s even recommended to lower your shield in the open, as while you’ll be more vulnerable, you’ll be much harder for other attackers to spot. This reduced visibility also applies to Arc enemies, allowing you to encounter them in the dark. Furthermore, the hiding places of the first wave of attackers will be revealed, leading to more valuable loot.

Next comes the “new Arc threat,” and the word “threat” is crucial here: it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a completely new enemy. The prevailing theory online is that the Shredder inhabitants of Stella Montis will escape and head to other maps, particularly Blue Gate. Rumor has it that the barricaded tunnels there lead directly to Stella Montis.

In conclusion, it’s safe to say that the “map update” is definitely not a completely new map – we know we’ll be getting one in April – but rather likely extensive updates to the existing maps. We might see one or two more buildings in Buried City, new paths being discovered on Stella Montis, or perhaps a natural disaster will lead to the collapse of buildings on Spaceport. However, these are all just speculations, as we currently know very little.

In addition, there’s a new project, a new Raider deck, and the Expedition phase begins. There’s a high probability that new quests will also be available. However, these will only become available after you’ve completed most of the existing quests in the game.
