Will Solo Leveling be the next big Fortnite collab?

It sounds like Sung Jin-Woo might make a last-minute trip to the Golden Coast, as Epic Games is currently teasing a collaboration between Solo Leveling and Fortnite.

The official X account of the battle royale game announced the collaboration by outlining the basic idea of the anime: “The weakest hunter of humanity. Rank E. No potential. No future…”, the post reads.
In his stories, the Instagram Fortnite account also asked: “If another path were open to you, would you take it?” The text is placed against a Solo Leveling-style background, surrounded by a blue aura, and hints at how Jin-Woo gains his powers.
Fortnite and solo leveling – it works
If you’re wondering what Jin-Woo and Solo Leveling actually are, here’s a brief explanation: Solo Leveling is an anime based on the highly successful Korean manhwa of the same name by Chugong and the illustrator Jang Sung-Rak. The story revolves around the hunter Jin-Woo, who comes from a world where mysterious “gates” connect Earth to monster-infested dungeons. Some people awaken there as hunters with different abilities to fight these monsters.
Jin-Woo, once the weakest hunter of E-rank, gains a unique power called “System” after surviving a deadly double dungeon expedition. Unlike other hunters, he can level up infinitely, become infinitely stronger, and use his abilities to extract fallen enemies and command them as his own shadow army.
The final point regarding his powers is the crucial one for the collaboration. Besides skins for Jin-Woo, the Fortnite leaker account HypeX, who expects the collaboration to happen this week, speculates that skins for Beru or Igris, two allies from Jin-Woo’s shadow army, as well as for the huntress Cha Hae-in, will also be available.
Fortnite is known for its anime collaborations (Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Bleach, etc.), and Epic Games usually finds clever ways to integrate the abilities and symbols of the respective franchises into the game. It will also be interesting to see how Jin-woo’s somewhat overpowered ability and the equipment he has earned are applied to the skin, or whether these powers can manifest in the game itself.
