Spotify can now have a conversation

You can even ask Spotify about the inspiration behind a song, the genre, the album's release date, and similar information.

Spotify has introduced a new feature: an integrated AI chatbot that users can interact with on both the home screen and in the “Now Playing” view. This feature is currently only available on mobile devices. However, you’re not limited to speaking – you can also type your requests or questions. You can have a dialogue just like with any other AI chatbot.

You can learn more about your favorite music, browse your listening history, delve deeper into podcasts and audiobooks – or simply ask for artists you’ve never heard of. Once your playlist is running, you can adjust it at any time.

Spotify understands various requests

You can save songs, add them to your playlist, follow artists – all by simply telling (or typing) what you want to Spotify. While listening, you can ask questions about the song – for example, about the inspiration behind it, the genre, the album’s release date, and so on.

Spotify offers you more context, suggests similar artists and stories, and lets you ask questions about the people, stories, and ideas behind podcasts or audiobooks. And of course, the app can also answer questions about your personal music taste.

The beta version is currently being rolled out in English to premium users aged 18 and over in the US, Ireland, and Sweden on iOS and Android. It is still unclear how long the beta phase will last and when the feature will be available in other countries.
