Sony Xperia 10 VIII: Geekbench test and launch date

It’s been almost a year since the Xperia 10 VII (MK7) was released, and now its successor has appeared in a Geekbench entry. The device, codenamed XQ-GH54 and expected to be released as the Sony Xperia 10 VIII (MK8), is equipped with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip and 8 GB of RAM.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 was announced back in 2024 and is the same chipset used in last year’s Xperia 10 VII. The Mark 8 model achieved 871 points in the single-core test and 3,028 points in the multi-core test, which is a good match for the SD 6 Gen 3.
Aside from that, the only information we have so far about the Sony Xperia 10 VIII comes from an entry in the IMEI database, which confirmed the model number. However…
The Sony Xperia 10 VIII could launch as early as next week
According to a new teaser, Sony will launch a new member of its Xperia series next week. The manufacturer announced the presentation of the new Xperia phone for Tuesday, August 25th.
The event will be streamed live on YouTube and will start at 11:00 AM Japan time, which corresponds to 4:00 AM CEST on August 26th in Europe.
Sony hasn’t explicitly mentioned the device in question, but given the current leaks, it’s likely the Sony Xperia 10 VIII (MK8). Last year’s Xperia 10 VII (MK7) was released in September, which would mean the 10 VIII would arrive almost a month earlier.
