Samsung Galaxy A18 4G appears on Geekbench with key specs

Rumors suggest the Samsung Galaxy A18 will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Although the Korean manufacturer has not yet officially confirmed the upcoming smartphone, it has already appeared in a Geekbench test revealing its key technical specifications.

The Geekbench test shows that the Samsung Galaxy A18, model code SM-A185G, is equipped with the MediaTek MT6789 octa-core chip, which is equivalent to the Helio G99 – the same chip used in the Galaxy A17 4G. Rumors suggested that the 4G model would use a MediaTek chip, while the 5G version would be equipped with a Qualcomm chip.

The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G from the Geekbench test had 4 GB of RAM and ran Android 17, presumably with the One UI 9 user interface. It achieved 745 single-core and 2,073 multi-core points in the test.
The Galaxy phone that appeared on Geekbench bears the model number SM-A185G, but we know that there is another 4G version with the model designation SM-A185F, as its test firmware was discovered on Samsung’s European server. This model is also likely equipped with the Helio G99 chipset.

It’s also worth noting that while the processor is the same as in the previous model, the design remains largely unchanged. The leaked renderings shown above depict an Infinity-U display with a notch on the front and a vertically arranged triple camera on the back.
The release date of the Samsung Galaxy A18 is not yet known, but an earlier rumor suggested that Samsung would first launch the 4G model and a few months later the 5G version.
The Korean manufacturer is expected to begin mass production of the 4G version later this month. Reports indicate plans to produce 100,000 units in August, 2.4 million in September, and 2.5 million in October. However, these production plans are subject to change depending on market conditions.
