The Google Pixel 10a was unveiled in February and launched in early March. Today, a video was released showing the teardown of the latest Pixel phone. It shows that to open the smartphone, you need a hairdryer or a heat gun to loosen the adhesive securing the back cover. After that, disassembly is a breeze.

Unfortunately, the USB port is soldered to the mainboard, making replacement difficult. On the other hand, there’s a small pocket that allows for easy battery removal, making the process relatively simple. The speaker has a rubberized fabric seal to prevent water ingress.

Google Pixel 10a scores 8.5 out of 10 points

The Google Pixel 10a scored 8.5 out of 10 in the repairability test, where 10 represents the easiest repair and 0 the most difficult. The internal design was rated as very good, and the smartphone achieved top marks in three out of five categories: availability of spare parts, ease of screen replacement, and ease of battery replacement.

It received a good, but not perfect, rating for organization and repair time, and the worst rating relates to how easy it is to replace other parts, such as the charging port.
