The repair page iFixit has today taken apart the new Apple AirPods Max 2, and as expected, there are only a few changes. According to iFixit, the AirPods Max 2 are basically identical to the original AirPods Max, which were already launched in 2020.

Apple has not addressed the common problems with the AirPods Max 2, such as condensation forming in the ear cups in humid environments, and Apple does not offer replacement parts or repair manuals.

iFixit suggests that the Apple AirPods Max 2 could be repaired and have a much longer lifespan if Apple provided instructions and components through its self-repair program and made the battery and USB-C port more accessible.

Since the design of the Apple AirPods Max 2 hasn’t been updated, the headphones are no more repairable than their predecessors. iFixit rated the repairability of the previous version at 6 out of 10, and the new Apple headphones didn’t do any better.
