Motorola Moto G Power (2026) Teardown: Battery Prevents Good Repair Rating
The Motorola Moto G Power (2026) was unveiled in China last month and has been available internationally since last week. The affordable $300 smartphone (€257) boasts IP69 certification and a MIL-STD-810H design. It features a 6.8-inch LCD display, is powered by the Dimensity 6300 processor, and offers expandable storage as well as a 5,200 mAh battery with 30-watt wired and 15-watt wireless charging.
The YouTube channel PBKreviews has already gotten their hands on a model and immediately disassembled it in their typical teardowns. The smartphone has two cameras on the back: a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with macro mode.
The third lens is not a camera, but simply the flicker sensor. The LED flash is integrated into the back, which has some disadvantages.

Because once the back cover is removed, things get tricky. Motorola hasn’t included any tabs or other method to make removing the battery easier. Worse still, they’ve used a lot of adhesive. While the battery is supposed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity (typically 5,200 mAh, 19.95 Wh) after 1,000 charge cycles, meaning it won’t need replacing for quite some time, a more repair-friendly design would have been preferable.
The stubborn battery of the Motorola mobile phone also complicates other repairs. For example, the screen cable runs under the battery. Furthermore, the screen must be removed to access the ribbon cables for the power button and volume control. Should any of these components fail, the repair becomes tricky and carries the risk of damaging both the battery and the screen.
PBKreviews The Motorola Moto G Power (2026) received a repairability rating of 5/10. Most of the points deducted were due to the difficult-to-replace battery and the fact that this also complicates other repairs.
