Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: 60-watt charger shows hardly any improvements in testing
Internal tests have shown that the new 60-watt charger for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra can charge the battery from 0% to 75% in 30 minutes, according to the well-known leaker Ice Universe. The tests were conducted under laboratory conditions, presumably at controlled room temperature.
That doesn’t sound particularly impressive in general, since the flagship phones from Chinese competitors consistently charge at 80 to 100 watts, and therefore significantly faster than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, the increase is also rather unspectacular – only 15 watts more than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. In addition, the S25 Ultra also reached a charge level of over 70% after 30 minutes in tests.

However, the fact that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is also supposed to have a larger battery speaks in favor of the new test, even though rumors suggest that the capacity will only be 5,200 mAh (+200 mAh compared to the S25 Ultra). So far, the rumor mill is divided on this point. Some insiders even assume that the battery capacity of this year’s Ultra will remain at 5,000 mAh.
New Samsung 60W charger
Samsung had unveiled the brand-new 60-watt charger for the upcoming flagship smartphone. It was just recently unveiled, which virtually confirms the new charging capacity. The power adapter is simply called Samsung 60W (model number: EP-T6010NBEGWW) and is available on the Samsung.com websites of various countries – throughout Europe (e.g., Austria, Sweden, Romania), but also in South America (Peru) and parts of the Middle East (Levant).
The charger features a USB-C port and supports Super Fast Charging 2.0. It boasts a low standby power consumption of only 5 mW. The following standards are supported: USB-PD (5 V, 15 V, 20 V) and PPS (5–20 V) with up to 3 A. However, AVS is not supported.
The older 45-watt power supply with Super Fast Charging 2.0 (EP-T4511XBEGGB) offered 3 amps of charging current at up to 15 volts and 2.25 amps at up to 20 volts, which limited the charging power to 45 watts in each case.
Samsung advertises that the new 60-watt charger is not only for smartphones, but also for Galaxy tablets and Galaxy Book laptops. Currently, no Galaxy tablet supports charging faster than 45 watts, which could change with the Tab S12 series. Galaxy Books, on the other hand, offer 65-watt charging.
For added safety, the charger features temperature, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection. It is also designed for quiet operation. In Europe, the Samsung 60-watt power adapter costs €53 and is only available in black.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will also support faster wireless charging up to 25 watts (compared to 15 watts for the S25 Ultra). The Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to support 20-watt wireless charging. The 60-watt upgrade, by the way, only applies to the Ultra model. The S26 and S26+ are expected to continue to support 25 watts and 45 watts.
