Samsung Galaxy XR teardown reveals design

The Samsung Galaxy XR Headset was already launched in October and now the repair experts from iFixit finally took one apart in the video embedded below to show us how it works.
Samsung Galaxy XR lighter than Apple Vision Pro
The Samsung Galaxy XR is lighter than Apple’s Vision Pro It features magnetic face cushions and light seals. Entry into the headset is from the front, so the plastic cover must be removed first.

Interestingly, inside the Galaxy XR is a sticker that reads “Void if tampered,” and such messages are illegal in the US. Inside are numerous screws and beneath them a clever design where all components are arranged on a single layer.
The Galaxy XR showed both strengths and weaknesses in our tests. On the one hand, the battery is externally mounted, which makes replacement extremely easy, and thanks to the use of Phillips head screws, no special tools are needed to open the headset. The mainboard is also quite easy to replace.
On the other hand, access is very difficult, and the “Void if tampered” sticker is anything but consumer-friendly. Furthermore, Samsung has not yet published any repair manuals.
