Product overview Xiaomi Buds 5
The Xiaomi Buds 5 are the latest addition to Xiaomi’s growing portfolio of wireless in-ear headphones. With advanced technology, elegant design, and an attractive price-performance ratio, the Buds 5 are aimed at music lovers looking for a cost-effective alternative to premium models.
Design and comfort
The Xiaomi Buds 5 feature a minimalist and modern design, typical of Xiaomi products. The earbuds are ergonomically designed, ensuring a comfortable fit even during extended use. Thanks to the included silicone ear tips in various sizes, the fit can be customized for a secure hold. A slim and portable charging case makes it easy to take the Buds 5 with you wherever you go.
Sound quality
With their 12mm dynamic drivers, the Buds 5 offer a balanced sound profile with clear highs, detailed mids, and powerful bass. Xiaomi has placed particular emphasis on rich bass reproduction with this model, making them ideal for bass lovers and fans of pop, hip-hop, or electronic music. The sound quality remains consistent even at higher volumes, and the headphones provide an impressively immersive listening experience.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
A highlight of the Xiaomi Buds 5 is the active noise cancellation (ANC), which effectively reduces ambient noise and ensures an undisturbed listening experience. ANC technology is particularly useful in noisy environments such as public transport or commuting, allowing the user to fully concentrate on the music. Additionally, there is a transparency mode that allows ambient sounds to pass through, for example, when walking in traffic.
Connectivity and control
The Buds 5’s Bluetooth 5.3 technology ensures a stable and fast connection to various devices. The earbuds pair seamlessly with smartphones, tablets, or computers and offer a good range without dropped connections. They also support touch controls, allowing you to play and pause music, answer calls, or activate voice assistants without having to remove the device.
Battery life
The Xiaomi Buds 5 boast a battery life of up to 7 hours with ANC enabled, which can be extended to a total of 28 hours using the charging case. The charging case supports fast charging, so the earbuds can be used for several hours again after just a few minutes of charging.
Call quality and ENC
With ambient noise cancellation (ENC) during calls, the Buds 5 offer clear voice transmission, even in noisy environments. The microphones effectively filter out background noise, allowing both callers and users to enjoy uninterrupted communication.
Fazit
The Xiaomi Buds 5 offer a compelling combination of high-quality sound, active noise cancellation, solid battery life, and comfortable fit. They are an ideal choice for users looking for affordable true wireless earbuds with advanced features. Despite their low price, the Buds 5 hold their own against more expensive alternatives, providing a well-designed, reliable, and practical listening experience.
