Honor Magic5 Lite

Product overview Honor Magic5 Lite

Design

The Honor Magic5 Lite impresses with its slim and modern design. The casing consists of a plastic frame with a smooth, glass-like back. It is available in several stylish color options, such as Emerald Green, Titanium Silver, and Midnight Black. The symmetrical camera module on the back contributes to its elegant appearance. Weighing just 175 grams and measuring only 7.9 mm thick, the smartphone is lightweight and comfortable to hold.

• Sleek and modern design
• Excellent 120 Hz AMOLED display
• Long battery life
• Solid main camera performance in daylight
• Good value for money

Build quality

Despite its moderate price, the Honor Magic5 Lite exhibits solid build quality. The plastic materials appear durable, even if they aren’t as premium as glass or aluminum. The device feels robust, but it lacks an IP rating that would offer protection against water and dust.

Display

The 6.67-inch AMOLED display is one of the highlights of the Honor Magic5 Lite. It offers an FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and responsive operation. Colors are vibrant, and the brightness is sufficient to see everything clearly even in direct sunlight. The display’s narrow bezels create an immersive viewing experience.

Performance

The Honor Magic5 Lite is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, a solid mid-range chip. Combined with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, the device delivers decent performance for everyday tasks like browsing, social media, and light gaming. However, it reaches its limits with graphics-intensive games. The Magic UI 6.1, based on Android 12, is intuitive, but some users might find the pre-installed apps a bit cluttered.

Battery

The Honor Magic5 Lite boasts an impressive 5,100 mAh battery that easily lasts up to two days – even with heavy use. Thanks to its 40-watt fast charging capability, the device is fully charged in approximately 75 minutes. However, wireless charging is not supported, which is typical in this price range.

Camera

The camera system consists of:

• A 64 MP main camera
• A 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera
• A 2 MP macro camera

The main camera delivers good results in daylight, producing detailed and color-accurate images. The ultrawide camera is solid but struggles in low light. The macro camera is best suited for casual shots. The 16 MP front camera takes attractive selfies that are also well-suited for video calls. Video recording is limited to 1080p, which is a disadvantage compared to other devices in this category.

Conclusion

The Honor Magic5 Lite is an attractive mid-range smartphone that scores points with its excellent display, long battery life, and stylish design. It’s particularly suitable for users looking for a reliable device for everyday use. However, limitations in camera performance and processor power might disappoint demanding users. Overall, the Magic5 Lite is a solid choice for price-conscious buyers.
