Xiaomi Redmi Watch 3 Active goes global, Redmi 12 to India

Xiaomi just held a big event in India where it launched the Redmi 12 5G for the international markets. But that wasn’t the only premiere – the brand new Xiaomi Redmi Watch 3 Active also found its way to the stage. The Xiaomi smartwatch follows the six-month-old Watch 3 and offers a larger display as well as longer battery life.

Xiaomi Redmi Watch 3 Active

The Xiaomi Redmi Watch 3 Active features a 1.83-inch LCD display with a resolution of 240 x 280 pixels and a peak brightness of 450 nits. There’s a single button on the side. The heart rate and SpO2 sensors sit at the bottom, as usual.

The strap is made of plastic, although the correct term is thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The case of the Redmi Watch 3 Active is also made of plastic. However, Xiaomi itself spoke of an NCVM coating, which gives the smartwatch a metallic look. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters and tracks over 100 sports.

The Redmi Watch 3 Active is available in three color options and offers over 200 watch faces. The widgets can be further customized with over 50 different combinations. The battery has a capacity of 289 mAh and according to Xioami lasts 12 days with normal use and 8 days with heavy use. The charger attaches magnetically via two pogo pins on the back.

The prices are within very reasonable limits. The white and black versions currently start at €39 ($36, 2,999 INR) in our Redmi Watch 3 Active price comparison.
