Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 3 with SD 8s Gen 3 and 90W charging is here

As a flagship killer, the Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 3 offers a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a 120 Hz AMOLED display and 90 watt charging.

Xiaomi has just announced the Redmi Turbo 3, the first smartphone in its new Turbo series. The Turbo series is Redmi’s new performance-oriented series that sits between the Redmi K and Note series. The device is one of the first cell phones to come onto the market with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Qualcomm’s latest chip aims to power the next flagship killers with performance at an affordable price.

The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 3 is based on a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The panel offers 12-bit colors, HDR10+ and a peak brightness of 2,400 nits. Xiaomi also added an optical UD fingerprint scanner as well as a 20-megapixel front camera in a punchhole.

On the back there is a 50 megapixel main camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor (1.6 μ pixels, f/1.59 aperture) and OIS. There is also an 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a Sony IMX355 chip. The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 3 comes with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Android 14 with the HyperOS skin takes over the os part. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and charges at a fast 90 watts.

The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 3 is available in black, green and titanium. Redmi also offers a limited Harry Potter edition, which you can see in the picture above right. Prices in China start at CNY 1,999 (€257/US$276) for the 12/256GB variant and go up to CNY 2,799 (€360/US$386) for the 16GB RAM/1TB storage model. Open sales in China begin on April 15th. According to rumors, the Redmi Turbo 3 will be launched outside China as the Poco F6.
