Xiaomi announced its Redmi Note 13 series in China today. The series consists of three members – the Redmi Note 13, the Note 13 Pro and the top dog Redmi Note 13 Pro+.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ features a 6.67-inch curved OLED display with a resolution of 1,220 x 2,712 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The panel can output 12-bit colors and has 1,920 Hz PWM dimming . In automatic mode, it reaches a peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. There is also an optical fingerprint sensor under the display and a 16 megapixel front camera.

As already teased, the drive is provided by a Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset from MediaTek with up to 16 GB of LDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Xiaomi has also installed a massive 4,000 mm² graphite plate and a VC heatsink for longer gaming sessions. Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 chip works on the back. This means that Xiaomi sticks with the same 200 megapixel sensor (1/1.4 inch / 0.56 µm pixels) as its predecessor, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The 8 megapixel ultra-wide and 2 megapixel macro camera are also carried over.

Unfortunately, Android 14 is not yet on board, but at least MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The battery of the Xiaomi smartphone has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and charges with an extremely fast 120 watts. There are also stereo speakers and, typical of Xiaomi, an infrared transmitter.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ costs CNY 1,999 (€257/$273) with 12/256 GB and CNY 2,299 (€295/$314) with 16/512 GB. Open sales in China begin on September 26th.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro

The differences to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro are limited. First of all, the significantly weaker Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset is installed. In addition, the cheaper Pro model is not protected against water and dust according to IP68 and the body does not have curved edges.

But the 13 Pro is also correspondingly cheaper. With 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage you pay 1,399 yuan (180 euros/191 US dollars). Open sales in China also start on September 26th.
