Xiaomi has announced the launch of HyperOS 1.0 for the Redmi Note 13 5G series in India. This actually includes all 5G versions, whether the Redmi Note 13 5G, the Pro or Pro+. All of these phones were launched last year with Android 13 and MIUI 14.

Xiaomi says the HyperOS update includes a “comprehensive refactoring” for optimized performance across devices. This includes smoother gameplay with lower power consumption as well as higher overall performance. The Redmi Note 13 models are intended to achieve the latter by distributing tasks across multiple computing units.

According to Xiaomi, the underlying technology stack has received several optimizations to take the Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ to the next level. For example, an all-new personalized lock screen is included. There is also a redesigned Control Center with no labels on the icons. Xiaomi has also implemented interactive notifications, new app icons and animations, a new file manager app with new categorizations and new weather animations.

As is usual with all such rollouts, you can expect the updates to be rolled out gradually. Therefore, you should expect a new firmware for your Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G in a few days at the earliest, if not a few weeks.
