Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo

The Redmi Note 12 4G, the Note 12, the Note 12 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ have just come to Europe, and the next model is already in the starting blocks. We already know that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo will see the light of day on March 28th at 7 pm. Thanks to some Weibo leaks and a visit to the AnTuTu benchmark, technical data are already known. Now some new teasers with further specifications have also appeared online.

Accordingly, the display of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will offer 12-bit colors and support HDR10+. The refresh rate is 120 Hz. There is also PWM dimming at 1,920 Hz and an SGS Low Blue Light certification. The previous rumors indicated a display diagonal of 6.67 inches and an FHD+ resolution. The Xiaomi phone is also said to offer fairly thin bezels measuring just 1.95mm on the top, 1.42mm on the sides and 2.22mm on the bottom. The screen-to-body ratio is therefore a very high 93.45%. The device is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 181 grams.

In addition, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo will have stereo speakers with Dolby ATMOS and Hi-Res Audio support in addition to a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Also on board, typical for Xiaomi, is an IR transmitter. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset along with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. This makes either the Turbo or the Realme GT Neo5 SE the first smartphone with the 7+ Gen 2. According to the teasers, the processor is cooled by a 3,725 mm² vapor chamber.

No under-display fingerprint sensor?

A second report, on the other hand, goes in a slightly different direction. According to this, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo should have a fingerprint sensor built into the side frame instead of an under-display scanner. Also on the list of expected specs here is a 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging. The main camera is expected to have a resolution of 64 megapixels and has OIS. There is also an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera and a 2 megapixel macro camera. In addition to Android 13, MIUI 14 is also preinstalled.

Nothing is known about prices and availability yet. However, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is expected to launch in India on April 5th as the Poco F5. And a little later also here and in the rest of the world.
