Xiaomi Redmi 13

The Xiaomi Redmi 13 is official. It is the first model in the Redmi range with a 108 megapixel main camera. It is based on the Samsung ISOCELL HM6, a 1/1.67 inch sensor with 9-in-1 pixel binning and triple in-sensor zoom. In addition, the selfie camera has been upgraded from 8 megapixels on the Redmi 12 to a 13 megapixel sensor.

Another important change is the battery charging, which now takes place at 33 watts. That’s almost twice as fast as its 18 watt predecessor. The battery capacity is essentially the same at 5,030 mAh, and a full charge takes 62 minutes. The Xiaomi Redmi 13 also has a large 6.79 inch LCD display with an FHD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The brightness reaches a peak of 550 nits and is controlled by DC dimming. There is also a Gorilla Glass front, although Xiaomi has not specified which version.

It is powered by a Helio G91 chipset, just like the new Redmi 13 4G. The update from the Helio G88 chip was necessary to support the new 108 megapixel camera. The older chip processed a maximum of 64 megapixels and was paired with a 50 megapixel camera on the Redmi 12.

There is also a microSD slot on board that can accommodate cards of up to 1 TB. Virtual RAM for a total capacity of up to 16 GB is also possible. There is also a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the top. The Redmi smartphone is 8.3 mm thick and weighs 205 g (compared to 8.2 mm and 199 g) and is still dust and waterproof according to IP53.

There are several configurations: 6/128GB, 8/128GB and 8/256GB. The base model starts at $180 / €200 in Europe (currently reduced to €170). It is available in four colors: midnight black, sand gold, pearl pink and ocean blue.
