Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi 12 4G with a Helio G88 chipset just last month. The 5G version seems to be next in line. Xiaomi itself has not revealed anything about an upcoming Redmi 12 5G. Today, however, a device with the model code 23076RN4BI and the most important technical data appeared on Geekbench, which is said to be the upcoming Redmi smartphone.

The Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G appeared in the Geekbench test with the model code 23076RN4BI, Android 13 and 8 GB of RAM. But there could be other storage options, too. According to the clock frequencies, the processor could be the new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which achieved 916 single-core and 2,106 multi-core points in the test. Pretty good values for a lower mid-range chip and more than enough performance.
The Xiaomi Redmi 12 has also already appeared in the BIS database with the model code 23076RN4BI, confirming the upcoming launch in India on August 1st. However, it is still unclear whether it is the 4G model or the 5G version. The previous official teasers point to the 4G model as they showed a similar design and also a 50 megapixel main camera. If, on the other hand, it is the 5G model, you can look forward to other differences apart from the chipset.
However, there is also the possibility that the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G is a renamed Redmi Note 12R. The 12R, on the other hand, is a rebranded Redmi 12 4G and also has a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip. There is also a 5 megapixel selfie camera, while Xiaomi has dropped the ultra wide camera.
