Xiaomi Poco X5 at Geekbench, X5 Pro with Snapdragon 778G

The announcement of the Xiaomi Poco X5 is imminent. This is also supported by a new Geekbench test, which has just revealed the chipset, RAM and the Android version. The Poco X5 carries the identifier Xiaomi 22111317PG and achieved 693 single-core points and 2,113 points in the multi-core test.

The Xiaomi smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset and 8GB of RAM. The software side is covered by Android 12, presumably skinned with MIUI 13. Based on previous rumors, the Poco X5 will be a refreshed Redmi Note 12 with the older Snapdragon 695 processor instead of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There is also an IP54 rating.

There is a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra wide camera with a 118-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The selfie camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels and the 5,000 mAh battery charges with 33 watts. The Poco X5 has 6/128 GB or 8/256 GB of storage that can be expanded via microSD. There are three color options – green, blue and black.

In the pictures, the Poco X5 looks remarkably similar to the Redmi K50i, although technically they have little in common. The specs are much closer to the Redmi Note 12 apart from the chipset.

Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro with Snapdragon 778G

A Pro version is also on the way. A retailer from Bulgaria already lists the Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro as “coming soon” and has published almost complete technical data. The Pro is based on a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels (20:9). The refresh rate is unfortunately not mentioned, but should be around 120 Hz like the Poco X4 Pro.

The Poco X5 Pro has a Snapdragon 778G chipset, a solid allround processor compared to the Snapdragon 695 in the X4 Pro. The retailer lists two storage configurations of 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB. There is also a microSD slot. The phone runs Android 12 with MIUI 14 in the Poco version.

The main camera has a 108-megapixel sensor with a size of 1/1.52-inch, 0.7 µm pixels and an f/1.9 aperture like last year’s model. Thanks to the more powerful processor, you can also record videos in 4K, but only at 30fps. The other cameras on the back are an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 118-degree field of view and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Upfront, the selfie camera of the Poco X5 Pro has a resolution of 16 megapixels.

Nothing has changed with the 5,000 mAh battery – it continues to charge with 67 watts and only by cable. For protection there’s Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and an IP68 rating – the X4 Pro only has IP53. There is no information about the prices yet. At launch, the X4 Pro cost 300 euros ($327) with 6/128 GB and 350 euros ($382) with 8/256 GB. Color options are blue, black and of course Poco yellow.

Note: The Poco X5 Pro image looks identical to the X4 Pro. Maybe Xiaomi didn’t change the design, maybe the retailer reused an old image. Also, the specifications of the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition seem to be very similar.
