Xiaomi is about to launch the new Poco X5 series for the global markets. The lineup consists of the Xiaomi Poco X5 and the Poco X5 Pro. There have already been various leaks regarding the technical data of the two cell phones. Today the matching pictures are finally added that confirm the design of the two Xiaomi smartphones. As previously speculated, the Poco X5 Pro is a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. The regular X5 is based on a Redmi Note 12 5G with slightly different specs.

Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro

The Xiaomi Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro have flat displays with a punch hole in the middle. On the back sits the characteristic large Poco rectangle with the camera module and the Poco logo. Both phones will come with a triple camera setup. The base model can be seen in gray and green, the Pro in black, turquoise and poco yellow. Yellow is the signature color for Poco smartphones, and there’s even a yellow accent for the power button, which also houses the fingerprint sensor. The blue version is very similar to the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed.

Xiaomi Poco X5

According to the previous leaks, all Xiaomi Poco X5 models have AMOLED displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a FullHD+ resolution. The normal X5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. This is also the biggest change from the Redmi Note 12 5G, which is powered by the newer Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. The X5 takes over the processor from last year’s Poco X4 Pro 5G. The X5 Pro, on the other hand, gets significantly more performance with a Snapdragon 778G. The SD 778G still belongs to the mid-range segment, but it is one of the fastest chipsets there with four ARM Cortex-A78 cores and an Adreno 642L GPU.

The regular Poco X5 will bring a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel sensor. The Pro version has a 108-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and the same 2-megapixel sensor. For selfies, the former has a 13-megapixel camera and the latter has a 16-megapixel sensor. Other specifications include an IR emitter, NFC, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both X5 have a 5,000 mAh battery, but the Pro charges with 67 watts instead of 33 watts.

The specs leaked so far come from a European retailer. There is still no concrete start date for the X5 series, but according to previous rumors we can assume the first weeks of February.
