Xiaomi Poco F5 / Redmi K60 to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

There have already been several leaks about the upcoming Xiaomi Poco F5 / Redmi K60 series, but the rumors are slowly condensing. This should be due to the content of the latest rumor: According to a report by MyDrivers, Xiaomi will present the new series in January, probably already before the Chinese New Year on January 22nd. Accordingly, we are a few weeks before the start.

Xiaomi Poco F5 / Redmi K60

The Xiaomi Redmi K60 is driven by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The QHD+display should support an refresh rate of 120 Hz. In addition to 67 watts of fast charging by cable, for the first time in a Redmi cell phone, also wireless charging with 30 watts is on board. A typical Poco / Redmi setup resides on the back: a 64 megapixel main camera as well as an 8 megapixel-ultra-wide and a 2 megapixel macro camera. The selfie camera dissolves 16 megapixels.

Poco F5 / Redmi K60 Pro

The Redmi K60 Pro also took part in the leaks today with a Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 processor. On the one hand, it sounds illogical that the Pro model gets the slower chipset. On the other hand, someone may simply have swapped the model names. The Pro display is also likely to be identical with QHD+ and 120 Hz.

The Redmi K60E will be the entry-level model with either a Snapdragon 870 chip or the upcoming dimensity 8200. First benchmark results already confirmed a SD870 model. The K60E should have a 48 megapixel main camera with OIS and run Android 12 with Miui 13. The other two Xiaomi phones are already running on Android 13 and Miui 14.

Based on the model name, it looks like the Poco F5 is based on the Redmi K60 Pro – both are called “Mondrian”. The K60 is called “Socrates” and the K60e “Rembrandt”.
