The Xiaomi Poco F5 was rumored to be launched as early as April 6th. Now we have an official date directly from Xiaomi – the new Poco flagship will be on stage on May 9th. The Poco F5 Pro will also be presented on this day. There is no official information about the technical data yet. However, Qualcomm’s Indian branch has already confirmed that the base model will be one of the first phones ever to have a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset under the hood.
The Indian department of Xiaomi, on the other hand, has published a short video of the Poco F5, which gives a first glimpse of the design. Also, the short clip confirms the three-lens camera setup on the back.
The Xiaomi Poco F5 Pro, on the other hand, has received significantly less attention in the marketing campaign so far. It should be based on the Redmi K60, which would fit Xiaomi’s previous pattern of marketing the Redmi K series internationally as the Poco F series. The Redmi K60 has a fast Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor at the helm. The normal F5, on the other hand, should be based on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo, in which the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip is also doing its rounds. In the video of the back above you can also see clear similarities between the two Xiaomi phones.
