Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro unveiled

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra was the star of today’s event, but the company also unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro tablets. Also, the Xiaomi Band 8, the Sound Move speaker and a Mini LED smart TV came onto the stage. The new tablets bring new chipsets, better displays and a new design. The latter is inspired by the Xiaomi 13 series. Both tablets have 11-inch IPS LCD displays with a resolution of 1,800 x 2,880 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The Pro model gets a faster 144Hz refresh rate, while the base model sticks to the 120Hz of the Xiaomi Pad 5.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro is powered by one of the fastest chipsets of the last year – the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The entry-level model is also more than properly equipped with a Snapdragon 870 chipset. Both tablets boot MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13. The Pro charges its 8,600 mAh battery with 67 watts, while the Pad 6 with 8,840 mAh has a little more juice but charges significantly slower with 33 watts.

The Pad 6 Pro features a 50-megapixel main camera on the back and a new 20-megapixel selfie camera with auto-tracking. The latter keeps the user in focus during video calls. The regular Pad 6 is much more simply equipped with a 13 megapixel main camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. Both tablets come with quad speakers with Dolby Atmos. Xiaomi also announced a new keyboard case and a second-generation smart stylus. The pen offers lower input latency, longer battery life and higher wear resistance of the pen tip.
