Xiaomi launched the Mix Fold 3 in August last year. Accordingly, work on the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is in full swing in order to possibly achieve a launch date in the summer. Today, usually well-informed Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station published a list of the Mix Fold 4’s specs. This is the first solid information ever about the new Xiaomi foldable.

According to DCS, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will feature a smaller fold in the main foldable display compared to its predecessor. The new mix should also support two-way satellite communication, which is currently only available on top cell phones such as the Apple iPhone 15 Pro or the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. There may also be an official IP rating for water resistance.

In addition, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 allegedly gets a special X-axis linear vibration motor and weighs between 220g and 240g. In addition to 16 GB of RAM, there is also 1 TB of storage space on board, which also underlines the premium claim. According to DCS, the battery has a capacity of at least 5,000 mAh and supports wired charging with 100 watts.

The main camera on the back has a resolution of 50 megapixels and offers a large aperture. There is also a new periscope camera. Xiaomi used a liquid lens lens in the Mix Fold 3 – we may see the next generation of this technology in the Mix Fold 4. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm, on the other hand, is a safe bet for Xiaomi’s next high-end foldable.
